Unfortunately Mercedes-Benz has again discontinued offering pistons for the OM617 turbodiesel motor, with no expected future release date. These same pistons have been unavailable from Mahle for many years, and unfrotuantely they won't put them back into production without a pretty massive order. This is frustrating to say the least, but now we have another solution for our customers--forged performance pistons.
We are excited to announce that we will now be selling custom-made forged aluminum racing pistons made by CP-Carrillo. The price for a set of five along with rings is only slightly more than the cast aluminum pistons made by Mercedes-Benz, and the performance output is much greater.
Soon we may also offer heavier duty connecting rods for performance applications, and if you are interested we can get pistons for other Mercedes diesel engines as well. Please allow a few weeks for us to ship, as these will be custom-made when you order.
In addition, we are now offering a greater selection of other high-performance parts for Mercedes diesel engines. We'd be happy to build your dream performance Mercedes-Benz diesel engine and install it into your dream racing or off-road rig--Mercedes or otherwise.
